Check the stamp...when looking at the car from the front, it's slightly to the left of the exhaust manifold and down about 6".

check the distributor plug. if it has 2 plugs, then it is obd1 b16a2. came from the eg6. the obd2 has one plug which came from the 99 sirs, ek9 (b16b).

b16b is a red top and are found in CTRs... last time i check SiR and CTR don t share the same engine.

however. the dizzy plug is a good way to check it

OBD0 1st gen tranny would be cable (Im sure there would be other ways to check based on plugs/sensors)
OBD1 2nd gen 2 plug dizzy
ODB2 3rd gen 1 plug dizzy

All of these would be stamped B16a if they from Japan.

correct me if I'm wrong

I think it would be from a 2nd gen b16 cause the eg is obd1. Ive got a b16a obd0 and a b16a obd1 in my garage and from the intake manifold i can tell the difference and like Midori said about the dizzy aswell. What does your head stamp say? Its right above the exhaust manifold on the head.
