I personally don't think it matters either way. If your car is used for day to day commute, and OE recommends regular oil, then use regular. If you have a few more dollars to spend, feel free to use synthetic. I mean, it is a metal air pump, not made out of paper. As long as you change it at recommended mileage, I can't see it bring you any trouble at all.

You can switch back and forth as often as you like.

Anyways, stick with 5w20 conventional oil. personally i would change it every 5000km.
Either use an Amsoil filter, which is good until you change the oil, or change your OEM filter at OEM recommended intervals.

Sorry couldnt help but laugh at that...

Alright well conventional oil should be fine for everyday driving...Synthentic is nicer if you want longer drop intervals...Amsoil claims 25k miles on one oil change....recommending that you swap out the filter every 5-8k
I personally use this oil in my BMW and have not had a single issue and plan on using it for the life of the car...its about a 90$ oil change in just parts but last a whole summer with just a few filter swaps

If you just want to use conventional oil use honda OE or a good oil like castrol...dont bother trying to cheap out with Formula from CT or Penzoil or quaker state lol....there will always be discussions on what oil is best..... just use a trusted manufacturer

Actually, if you use the Amsoil EA filter, it will go as long as the oil, so you don't have to worry about changing the filter at OEM intervals.

Cheers

You are correct. Unfortunately, we do not have an EA filter for the BMW applications. We do sell and recommend the WIX brand of filters. They are a great filter, but would still have to be changed at OEM intervals.
