polarized vs. non-polarized tints????

Hey there, i'm looking into tinting a car, and it seems to get polarized tinting is about $50 more...what's the deal? Is it worth it? I know my sunglasses are polarized...and it helps a ton!

polarized tint will let in less light without being too dark in color...makes sense if the price is a bit higher.

Ok just a random lurker here but BIG CAUTION!!!

You mentioned polarized glasses... they way those work is by having realllyyyy small black slants that block out exactly 50% of light. Imagine your polarized lens magnified -> ////

Now put in polarized tint and it somehow is the exactly opposite in its slants... \\\\

those two put together = 100% light blockage at certian angles.

I suck at explaining but as an experiment put on a pair of polarized.

Then borrow or just grab another polarized lens and put it infront and start rotating the lens infront of the polarized that you are wearing.

Eventually everything will go dark.

Hope this wasn't confusing...

haha - well it was, but i understand a little bit about polarization, my understanding was that most tints AND lenses are vertically polarized...so you would not completely get a black out of light...but i suppose it's possible...however what i was really asking, was if anyone has had any experience with them - and if they notice a difference between polarized and non-polarized?
Thanks!

I don't think you're suppose to see the difference, more like feel the difference. Though I'm not completly positive, these are effective with leather seats and particularly in the summer, it'd be quite useful in Toronto when it gets hot and your car is outside all day. You save your *** from getting burned. not 100% positive but this is what I Herd.
