my car is rust free

lol

is it legal to drive it like that? the question was "is it all the way through?" after sanding down to bare metal with 40grit and never coming close to silver in the rust spot i just gave it a few taps with a hammer and I got my answer. gonna get it done in a few weeks but i'm not sure if it's legal to drive like that, i see chevy trucks do it all the time but ehhhh still not sure.

I think it is easier if you just change the whole fender... At least thats what i did in mine. Bought a silver fender from the yard and put it in... I paid lile 70$ for the fender and it was easy to change

I dont think it is ilegal to drive like that, i seen a lot worse than that on the streets

this is quarter panel though... can you buy quarter panels? i was looking back when i first bought the car and didn't know sh*t about cars and i thought the answer was no the piece has to be cut out and re-welded... all the estimates i've had so far have been $1000 and one cab repair shop quoted $700 but that guy was sketch.

hole is like 2 inch diameter on the passenger side, car's not lowered so it doesn't rub on anything, took out the back seats and that side interior panel so nobody's sitting back there to weigh it down

oh my bad. I thought it was the front part. You could try my bodyshop , he is pretty decent and cheap. I ll pm the details and maybe you could just ask him how much it will cost you to fix it up...

i think i know a place where you can get the panel.. Home ... when school starts back up i can ask my auto teacher if he can get it...he gets a huge discount because at our shop we always get panels from there...and i can probably cut, weld, fibreglass, body filler it for you... for a lot cheaper...but it will take like 4 days.. let me know... if you are willing to wait untill september

There is no need to remove anything from the car. A quarter panel is just a panel and has nothing to do with structural support. Also you will not get even close to rubbing since as you compress the springs/struts with weight, the wheels naturally gain some camber.

I believe the body shop that was an affiliate for tcc a while ago (can't recall the name) used to do it for 700$, both quarter panels rewelded and paint matched.

i took the inner panel out because there was a dent in the side, popped that out with a rubber mallet and a brick wrapped in newspaper
