Unhappy Need help/advice

OK, you know that tap outside homes where you can attach a garden hose to?? Well mine seems to be leaking very bad. I tried to fix it like you would a regular faucet/tap but since it's very short and located very close to the side of the house (brick) it's hard to budge it without either scraping your knuckles/hand

Who would you call for such a service, plumber???

I'm at a loss and my mom's bugging the crap outta me to fix it.

There should be a cut of valve inside the house. Locate where the pipe would enter the house and follow the line until you get to the cut of valve. Close valve.

You're suppost to shut it off BEFORE winter starts so you don't burst your pipes. Come spring thaw you might have to replace that external faucet.

The shutoff valve in the house is already turned off So I think that's a problem too.

if the shut off valve is off, did you drain the line leading to the outside??
what might have happened is that the water froze and expanded blowing out one of the valves if not both of them..

so, what you'll have to do is probably shut off the main water supply and replace the valves that are gone..
not too bad a job (i watched Bob Vila do it )
you should be able to have it done in an hour or so..

nooooo don't put in the insurance claim if you can help it..... my dad put in 2 claims in one year (one for a freezer breaking down causing 100 dollars worth of food to go bad and the other cause his table saw was stolen from the garage) when it came time to renew the house insurance every insurance company would not insurethe house even at a raised (high-risk) rate. (in the end my step mom insured the house even though the insurance company was told about the 2 claims guess they didn't want me dad's name on the policy)

get quotes from plumbers shouldn't be too much...
