Wierd Noise

Hey guys,
I have a 99 Civic Sedan and recently I've been noticing a wierd noise coming from the front passenger side. It comes whenever I go over bumps. It sounds like two plastic pieces rubbing or something. I looked around to see if there were any loose parts, but everything seems to be in place. I don't understand what it is, I was just curious if anybody would have any idea cuz its bugging me. Thanks for ur help.

That could be a possibility, but my car isn't dropped at the moment. Also, the noise, I'm pretty sure is from the interior. BTW, would CV joints go bad this early, the cars just lil over 3 years and only like 40K on it?

It may be a ball joint. It will make a clunking noise when you go over a bump or you get some snow in the rim and kinda throws the tire out of balance for a few minutes, and you hear a clunk. That could be the ball joint or the upper control rod in the susp. That could also be loose.

Your springs and sub-frame (including molding and other decorative pieces) will move and flex when going over extreme terrain...it will create a sound similar to say like a floor slowly creeking depending on the speed you take these bumps at...if this is your situation, it's normal..often, temperature makes a big difference...the colder, the more likely you are to hear it...don't worry, you're fine. to prevent it, you could install a front-upper tower bar to reduce body flex...this will help with the noise.
