energysuspension is your new best friend . you'll feel way crisper shiftings once you replace them with polyurethane bushings and they last longer.

I think you might want to get a second opinion besides your mechanic's. Your shifter and gas pedal have no relaton really that would make something grind. It might be a problem with the transmission itself.

But how does that relate to the shifter bushings?

I don't think it's the bushings only becasue they are just small urethane pieces that your shifter mounts to under the body and where the shifter rod attaches to the transmission itself. The grinds would come from insid the tranny, not shifter.

The ES bushingds are available at Perfromance Improvements for under $30. Try them and maybe they will fix your problem. If not, they will make your shifts much smoother and tighter.

It could be the vibration cause the shifter bushing to grind when you let off the throttle, try to change bushing first and see if it solves the problem, if not just check with your mechanic again.

well he says there are 40 bushings and rings down there that are all seized up....he is going to replace them......but yea i'm going ot get the eneergy suspensions shifter bushings.('m thinking that is what i need)......and tell him to use those...he told me that my shifter more lose then normal..its got too much play when in gear etc.

WHen he says grinds he doesn't mean that the tranny grinds. I know exactly what he is talking about.. Like at highway speeds when you let off the gas a bit the shifter will start to vibrate because of all the play from a bad bushing which sounds like grinding. So yes Your mechanic is probably right its the bushings. but I don't think you'll need to replace all 40 or so of them. I ahve the same issue.. just waiting for my set to come in
