just wondering what grade i should go with, either 5w20 or 5w30.

also thinking of either castrol syntec or mobil 1.

i know mobil 1 makes a high milage synthetic that is supposed to clean the engine, not sure if thats a good idea or not, but i do have 172,500km.

5w30, honda started using 5w20 in 2001-current models as an emissions thing

Either will be fine really but stick with 5w30 if that's what you've been using.

It should say right on the oil cap what the recommended oil is. 5W30 OEM Honda oil and filter is what I use.

i just started using synthetic last month, but 5000km is up already, so i'm gonna switch to mobil 1 reg or high milage synthetic

when i first got my car i had piston slap when it was cold out, after almost a year of using synthetic its completely gone!!!

ended up going with 5w30 amsoil synthetic and oem honda filter

I use Mobil 1 in my SiR and I was using a Honda OEM filters(fram) and switched over to the X2 (?) Fram. I can't think of the model # right now. I love that suregrip on the filter.
