why are you willing to dump 15K into a civic that you paid $1000 for?
1k + 15k does not equal a 16k car. Its still a 1K 15 year old car with 15k worth of parts that most people would not buy if he lost interest and had to sell it. Its not an investment.

If I had 15k to burn, Id probably finish my basement or save up a little more and buy an S2000 for a toy.

If the o/p has the cash and wants something to play with, why not. 15k would build an awfuly nice K swapped EG.

i think he was being sarcastic ...

like most here said ... you are 28 , i think you are better off just buying a newer and nicer car.

Noone here said dont invest money in it , but if you buy a 2002 sir for 10 gs you can still put 2-3 grand and it would look a lot better than a 95 eg with 15 k invest in it....plus if you ever want to get rid of you would get good money for it because a lot of people want to buy that type of car...

just my two cents but its your money man ... do whatever you like with it

true but the thing i like about this car is that its very light and maybe 15gs is a little too much maybe 5 or 6 max... its one of my fav cars of all time and since i never had the chance earlier i thought why not now... im not looking for attention or anything stupid like that, lol im just saying that im gonna keep this car for as long as i can with 5 g's of work in it then save up and get another car... I understand what you guys are saying and alot of it makes sense but the new civics dont really look as nice...

I dont like the new civics either ( except for the coupes)... Its your money so you can invest as much as you want. You just asked for advice and we gave it to you..

5gs should be more than enough to make it look nice. Just becarefull with insurance , a lot of them will not insure your car if you mod it too much.

Also i think is a waste to do the automatic to manual swap. Just sell the automatic for the price you bought it and get a manual ... you ll be saving at least a 1000 ( conversion )

haha....finish up your basement, that will be a better investment for you in the long run. than you can rent it out and other ppl will pay for your morgage. See thats what a smart person would do. With the money you save up because of this...will make a phat downpayment for a new car.

well...
5K (though still too much IMO) is more reasonable..
if you have that much do the Kseries swap.. it will pull like a missle..

No point in doing a B16 as there are tons of them for sale. You might as well just sell this car and get an EG with a B already in it.

Especially when it comes with a 6sp and LSD from the factory. Hardly the fastest thing on 4 wheels, but I'm not complaining.

Either way you need K-Pro which is worth every penny.
Try to find one used on club RSX or EPhatch.com. After you have K-pro weather you swap or keep the A3 you have a way better tuning platform not to mention get the most from all of your power adders.

Just putting it out there that the A3 has some potential to be a way better platform then stock. EPHatch.com has some guys over there making really good N/A numbers with there A3's. You check it out over there if you have time.
