How would you spend 20 grand?

The only thing domestic I'd buy in the 20g range is an older vette, 1st gen cobalt ss...umm, thats about it. The rest, imo, is junk.
Honestly, I'm so obsessed with mkI MR2's right now, I'd take the 20G's, finish restoring my 86 MR2 and put the rest of the money in savings.

no im not really pulling in extra shifts or cutting back costs to save i always had a car savings fund specifically for this reason except in the summer i can put alot more into that savings fund

whats wrong with RWD in the winter? i got an 85 bonneville with a 350 that i drove all winter long with no traction control and had no problems with it, invest in good tires and you'll be fine, and i'd say go with the mustang, theres different supercharger kits out there for them and you can make power easily with them, or id say buy a fox body stang for like 1500 and spend the rest on motor upgrades for a fast ride

I woulda made that point if he hadn't...
Generally speaking, in Canada: A Home = Appreciating Asset | A Car = Depreciating Expenditure
I'd just put $12k - $13k into a 2005 Corolla XRS & invest the remaining $6k - $7k.
It's Safe. Relatively Quick. Reliable. Fuel Efficient. Practical. Boring as Hell. Does the Job.

Ditto, I drive RWD in the winter.. nothing wrong with it as long as you have good tires, and (depends on car/truck) some weight in the back

I think the OP meant "if you had to spend 20G's on a car, what would it be?" by his original post.
He obviously has planned ahead and has this money set aside for this specifically and has the rest of his finances in order, if not, his loss.
So just answer the damn question and stop preaching about making down payments on houses!
lol

if the insurance isnt too bad you could get a wrx or even sti, i know my brothers insurance on his 04 wrx is pretty cheap and he has a couple tickets. and for about $1500 in mods to the wrx (acessport and turbo back exhaust) you could put down around 210- 225whp before other bolt ons and thats just on a stage 2 basemap and stock turbo. you wouldnt have to buy a winter ride either. a good c5 vette is going to be hard to find for 20gs, a mustang on the other hand should be easy to come by with low kms and in good condition.
