2006 civic snow/winter tire sizing
my stock '06 civic comes with 195/65R15 tires.
can i go skinnier with 185/65R15 ?? or do i have to use 185/75r14 to do minus one tire size? (skinnier tires perform better in the snow)
your guidance and comments on this would be appreciated.

Its usually recommended to go with a narrower tire in the winter, as long as the overall diameter stays the same. A 14 will not fit over the brake calipers though. A 15 is the smallest you can use on an 8th Gen Civic.

185/65/15 is slightly smaller overall diameter and 185/70/15 is slightly larger diameter. Either will work if you want to go 185 wide. the 185/70/15 is a closer range.
