Honestly, there is nothing in a Civic to compare to mine based on Km's. Nothing is even close. Lots on Autotrader with 4X the K's in the 4's and 5's.

There are a lot of 98 civics si going for around 3000- 4000 . Mileage may not be close but honestly being a car that is already 11 years old that does not matter too much at this point. Most people would rather buy something newer with 6000-6500. Here are some newer cars going for that price

2004 mazda 3 with 90 000 km
Mazda 3 -Automatic -2004 -90K

2002 civic with 190 km
2002 HONDA CIVIC LX

2002 accord with 140 km
2002 Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe 144k

2004 honda civic -170 km
2004 Honda Civic

I think you are stuck in the middle. However there may be someone outhere who really likes the old style of civics and really likes red , and is looking for the mods you have in the car and is willing to drop that kind of money.

If you want to sell it fast then 3800-4500 is good , if you want to wait and see then 5000 is fair

You never know , i still remember my friend sold his 94 civic ... it was painted ligh blue and lowered , looked really nice however nothing worked. Brakes were done (noise as hell) , cluster did not work, km display did not work ( so god knows how many km the car had) , rpm gauge did not work , lights inside did not work , it only had hubcaps , rust in some spot .... and he still manage to sell it for 3600 to some highschool kid that did not know a thing about cars . Met at the parking lot, gave him 3600 and god knows how he safety it or drove it home ... anything is posible man

Then keep it for sale for 6 or 7 g's and wonder why you still havent sold it.

You asked for advice and we gave it.

Hey Mike,

I have no problem buying a mint civic with low KM's for that price.

If your not in a hurry to sell it, I would keep it at that, or lower it just a little.. you'll find someone, it might just take a little longer.

I would just keep the car. Mileage is great and it will last you another 10 years or more. $7000 is not a bad price, its just not a quick sale price.

3 years ago I was looking to buy my first car, I saw a 1998 black civic si, had the exact same km, 58 or 59k, I also questioned it....I came close to buying it because of the km....but once i went in to the dealership, all the taxes and everything it came to 10500....at that time it was 8 or 9 year old car....I just couldnt do it....a month later for a few thousand more I was able to get my 2003 civic lx coupe....it only had 70,000km on it...........so I got a good deal I feel. But that civic sold quickly, so there is someone out there that will buy it. It will just take some time.

Beleive me I would keep it if I didn't have a new "Family Friendly" vehicle coming, and didn't have to insure 3 vehicles. Whoever buys it will definately get a vehicle that will last another 10 years.

rick10 hit the nail right on the head.
BUT at the end of the day, its your car, so try to sell it at whatever amount you want

All the belts are in great shape, haven't had to change them. Aside from that, if someone was comparing cars that age and one had 1/4 the km's, one would think a couple of grand more would be a good investment. Pricing out body work etc. would easily eat that money up.

the average person would not care about the mileage of your car because it is already 11 years old. Now if you sell your car at the market price and price it 500-900 more then yes some people will pay that kind of money for your car.

However ask the average person if they had 6500 to spend would they buy a 98 civic with 60 000 or a 2004 mazda 3 with 100 000 km (or any 2002 civic with 140 000) 90% will choose the newer cars.

You gotta keep in mind that its not just about the KMs , that car is already 11 years old so ALL the parts of the car are as old as the car (belts, paint, seats , carpet , dash , exhaust , etc , etc ).

At the end of the day its up to you , but if you had the car posted for a while and nobody reply to your ad that should be a clear indication that most people are not even willing to pay anywhere close to what you are asking ( because if they were you would of at least get an offer for 5500 -6000).... But like i sai before you never know someone outhere may fall in love with yourt car an decide to buy ... you just gotta be patient .
