1998 with 58000 km's Legit??

I have had my 1998 Civic Si listed for a while now with little interest and I have had some question the legitimacy of the Km's. Other than the UVIP which I already have what can be done from keeping people away from my car?? (Aside from giving the car away)

Well, seeing an 11 year old car with only 58,000 k's might seem suspicious to some people because many compareable 98 Civics in the trader or on kijiji have 200,000 k's.

Besides the UVIP, there is also Carfax and Carproof, both of which sjow more of the vehicle's history then the UVIP.

What are you asking for the car and is it modded? It could be other issues besides the low k's turning people off.

Asking 6500 with wheels and tires, would probably take 6000 without wheels and tires. It's posted in the Civics For Sale Section.

58 000 isnt too low mine was 130000 and it was a 99

it was only drove 6444 kms a year on average so that isnt to bad it could have just been a school-and-back car

My truck only has 222,756 km's, and it's a 92. It's hard to find a low km's civic now a days, that's why every one is nerves about it.

my 98 hatch had 60,000km on it when i bought it 4 years ago

so that would be 2005 making it a 7 year old car

the guy i bought it from worked at bell down the street

not everyone has to drive 150km a day for work that's what people dont get

I basically drive it less than 15km's to work and am not trying to fool people. I think the price is fair and would love for a "Civic Person" to get the car, someone who appreciates it. I Don't understand it and very much appreciate the opinions. Should I post the VIN and let people do the carfax themselves?

to be completely honest i would not pay 6000 for a car that is 11 years old.... I dont think is the mileage turning people off , i think is the price...

I seen 2001 and up civics going for 6-7 grand .... 2004 mazda 3 going for 6500-7500....

I know the KM in your civic is really really good but that car is still 11 years old

good luck though ... someone may buy just be patient

yeah I agree with Rick10.. price and market don't match unfortunately. I'm not saying that its a unfair deal it is just that people with 6000 don't want an 11 year old car

Plus the so called recession and dealer ships have really really low financing options, thats another reason aswell.

Bingo. $ 6 grand for 11 year old civic.. gonna have to be a true enthusiast or an old lady to make that purchase. If you have 6 grand to spend you more then likely have more to spend and as such you will be buying something less then a decade old.

I actually seen your ad

http://www.torontocivics.com/tccv5forums/t154800/

it says 7000 $

nice car though but there is not way anyone in their right mind pay 7000 for that....I would just keep it ,

also paint the mouldings red it will make a big diffence

I dont think anyone would pay more than 4000 for your car

Price it for Me

I have recently dropped the price, see previous posts. I know the ad says 7000 but I can't edit the ad. Anyway, apparently I'm out of my mind so why don't you guys/girls price the car for me!!

I ll say 4000 tops .... the car is very well maintaned .

Just compare your car with others in the market ( same mileage, model and year) and base your price on that.

Not trying to insult you, but Id say $3500. It looks mint, but as others have said, its an 11 year old Civic. Sure its very low k's, but short trips can be bad for the car and stuff wears out with age regardless of how little it was driven. Return it to stock and sell the aftermarket parts for some extra cash.

I looked at a 97 Civic hatch the other day. It had alot more k's and was very basic, but it was otherwise in perfect condition. Bone stock, original owner. $1200 cert and etested.
