check engine light :@
Hey guys,
I got a 2000 civic coupe, i just got the car a few weeks ago and recently my check engine light has come on...not happy about that AT ALL lmao. I took it to honda and it got some evap reading which apprently can be nething ranging from like 50 different parts :S
So i took it to the dealer i bought the car from and they changed some evap valve to see if that would work and then 2 days later my check enginge light came back on.
If anyone else has had probs like this or with their check engine light i would greatly appreciate any tips or info.
Thanks guys.

Ok well the engine light could be anything, just because you had your engine light come on and someone else had his light on doesn't necessarily mean the reason for that person's light coming on and yours must be same. To figure out the problem, look for a mechanic preferrably a friend or someone who you or someone else close to you has dealt with (a trusted mechanic). Honda is good, they know their stuff but that stuff comes at a value to high and considering honda's popularity most mechanics should be able to help you so don't necesarrily need honda. The mechanic should be able to run some tests and figure out the cause of your light coming on. It could be simply a head light problem which is small but can cost you a lot depending where you go, just be careful which mechanic you pick.

i had the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago......i need it an oil change that's why the light went on. after doing it the light wouldn't go off, so someone i know told me to unplug the battery for 15 mins then plug it back on and the light went off. again like the guy above said, engine light could be anything but before you take it to the mechanic just check your fluids to make sure they are ok that way it'll save you a trip.
