For those who know about Law

Hey guys,

Trying to help a friend here but I have no idea what to tell him other than what he was doing was stupid.

Basically, his insurance papers expired a few months ago and did not renew insurance as he was going to store his car for the winter. He got pulled over and received a ticket for expired insurance.

He received a TTP to show his insurance papers in 48 hours. Now what he's arguing with me is that if he pays the 70$ for improper insurance papers (what the ticket says), he wont have to provide proof of new insurance on the vehicle.

Is he right?

P.S: On a lighter note, I also received a TTP today for improper plate location. Gotta fix that up tommorow and go to the station

Uhh... so essentially he got caught driving without insurance. - Well that can carry a fine upwards of $5000.00.

I'd say he's pooched. Paying the $70 fine is just the start of it..

He should re-instate coverage asap, then head to the station.

Thats what I thought.

See he's trying to argue the fact that if he pays the 70$ for not having proper insurance papers on him then the fine is just done because thats all the ticket says. It dosnt go on to say that he needs to then prove he has insurance.

Ah well.
