I think their approach is wrong. It's discrimination, attacking anyone who has modified their exhast, lights, etc. How the hell do those things make you a racer!
I agree with if your caught racing that they take your car, I wish they would take all the cars from the ******** on the road. I had a pickup truck on my *** (on the 407) I was in the passing lane (passing cars) and he was right on my back bumper, so the moment I had the opportunity to switch lanes, he switches, nearly rear ends a car entering the 407, and then proceeds to go around that car via the shoulder. These are the **** they should be targetting not fancy light bulbs (like those make your car travel at the speed of light)
Whatever, the cops want to follow stereo types, so be it, hope they are prepared to go to court.

Take a look here...but some of the info is not correct (tires rubing...tints....and a couple of other things).....sorry Tmak...
http://www.torontocivics.com/tccforu...s=&threadid=14
The muffler, I'm not too sure....big fancy tips are ok, and as long as the muffler is ok for "street" use, not "offroad" use.....

Quote....
"Muffler - You’re allowed to change the muffler so long as it is in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise. Again, refer to the Intake section of this document on legal issues on the replacement of vehicle system or devices - you are allowed to change/replace your muffler. Also note, that the sound allowed to be emitted from your vehicle is 83 dBA as stated by Transport Canada in the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. The following is from the Highway Traffic Act. Since when is replacing your exhaust with an aftermarket one illegal? Even HONDA sells intakes and exhausts to their customers!"

Muffler

HTA.....
75. (1) Every motor vehicle or motor assisted bicycle shall be equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise and excessive smoke, and no person shall use a muffler cut-out, straight exhaust, gutted muffler, hollywood muffler, by-pass or similar device upon a motor vehicle or motor assisted bicycle

I dunno what to say I think it sux that people have died, I had no idea that T.O. had this BIG RACING SCENE, but I feel I am just as guilty as those who caused this in the first place.

I mean, I don't race on crowded streets and do stupid ****, but have taken Sunday drive or two down Zach's Back Yard... and my car has those super speed HID light bulbs that Michelle was talking about...

I guess it sux what is happening, but I kind of feel partially responsible... oh well, we all just have to be careful out there

Kinda makes you think twice before buying cosmetic mods now doesn't it?? How sad. It's funny though, the fastest-looking cars are usually the slowest.

As long as you don't drive like an idiot, i don't know why the should bother. Whenever i put stuff on my car i try to keep it legal like my tint, lights etc. If i do get nailed then off to court i go.
