Insurance Companies Not taking new drivers

Its true, alot of companies are turning down drivers now, so if you call up a broker and ask them for a quote dont be surprised when they tell u they cant because the companies arnt accepting new clients.

I asked "but isn't it illegal to not take a person, because everyone needs insurance?"

Well they will but youll be charged outta your @ss with another company that takes high risk.

So my advice to you, watch your driving, try to keep your record as clean as possible

that is all

did you tape it Matt, would be great to have..

my advice would be to ask for all quotes in writing, denials the same thing..
shyt'll come in handy when the class action discrimination suits start rolling, and it'd be great to send all that shyt in to the papers..open up another window for the insurance companies to jump out of when shyt hits the fan

prime example of why government backed insurance needs to be brought in..

Nope. I haven't had any tickets, accidents, or claims of any sort for at least 8 years and yet my rates seem to go up each year.

Hey man, your dad is an insurance broker? I'm in the need of one right now. The truth is my dad's got this work van that he has 'insurance' on according to RBC insurance which doesn't allow him to be a primary on my del Sol.

Now I'm a secondary driver and I'm at the point now where I just need an insurance company that won't charge me $7000, yes you heard right, $7000 for me being a primary. This is my first insurance company, I have a clean driving record and I've been through driving school. When my dad was a primary on my Sol the rate was only $2100 but now it's jumped up to $7000.

The lady on the insurance line pretty much told me to find an insurance broker.

Please someone help  this god damn blows.

All you guys are completely wrong!

Yakabuski, the IBC bulldog, shill, whatever, totally refutes the claims of the Consumer Affairs advocate group (Studio 2, Globe, CBC, City, etc) that the average Ontario driver pays over $2500 a year. He swears it's more like just over $1000

Also, he says to shop around. One of the 168 companies are sure to 'do' you

In all seriousness, did anybody see him up against the NDP economist insurance critic on TVO's Studio 2? The NDP economist was pathetic, Yakabuski eating him for dinner. I even wrote to Steve Pacon, the host. The IBC really hired well -- a bulldog, sweaty upper lip and all, who really delivers the IBC's crap well...

For a reality check, just check out the averages for Manitoba, Quebec and BC. If you do, you'll

Oh, my record is clean as a cat's ***. I decided to see what's out there. ING, $5700, please Must be the healthy competition and ourageous claims that the insurance shills espouse

Mind you, that was for a BMW. If I drove a Mistsubishi or a Talon, I'm sure it'd be cheaper

That's true, I called around 50 companies and all of them said they're not taking any new drivers and the only one that took my info didn't call the next day when he was supposed too

By law, there has to insurance available to everyone, regardless of your driving record, # of claims, etc. What this means is that if you are a licensed driver in Ontario and keep looking you will find insurance out there. Only problem is that it might be within a high risk pool (facility).
