Insurance companies that cover mods?

I just found out today my insurance company dont cover any cars with mods to them. I have yet to tell them about my turbo kit in fear i will be dropped. I am looking to switch over to another company before they find out. So what companies do you guys use to cover additional mods?

its cause they are stupid.... cause obviously a car that handles better is more likely to get in an accident

i'm sure most insurance companies would say having a b16 in a civic means you get dropped then you can ask how people on japan or europe get insurance??

If your putting a foreign part in your car its a modification, be it a good one or bad one .... and the apprasiers and shops used by insurance companies are quite knowledgeable about street mods .... so they do what to look for as far as engine mods and preformane parts .....

But if an insurance company replaces a part on your vehicle under a claim and it is from Japan/UK ORIGINALLY haven't they put you in default?

Seems to be common practice..

If its an Genuine OEM part from another country but made for that vehicle what is the problem anyway?

If it is a OEM part, I don't see what the problem would be ....If you modifiy the vehicle for increase in performace and power then there is a chance you could do more harm than good - then people claim it, that is why companies don't want to cover it (and the liability aspect, plus your car is more attractive to theives)
