I read one of the post that say that points can not be reduced, is that true? I am thinking of getting a laywer also, but $600 for a speeding ticket is crazy, but then again the radar thing is hard to fight maybe $600 was for everthing, then it is worth it. I would pay for the laywer, b/c with point reduction the insurance could stop insuring you or they would just fry you alive. That is what I am affair of, I also got a speeding ticket today, not my first, unfortunately this time it's a 3 point increase, that's what he said. He said, they don't deduct points, you gain points, is that true? He clocked me at 75km in a 50km zone = 3 points. I was exiting a highway, and it was a down hill, it was at down town.

No way do I want do I want my insurance to go up, so please, if anyone have been in my situation before please help.

In regrads to the post:
I have this friend that got ticketed for racing but the other guy that he raced with ran from the cops, but didn't get away. Both when to a laywer. The Prelude guy, my friend got summon to court, they say that it was going to be $5000 + licence suspension, but the laywer took care of everything. Nothing happened to him at all, never shown up in court, never got charged with anything. I am looking for that lawyer if he is my last option.

I say go to the Lawyer if you want pease of mind.

It might cost you more but you'll know in the end you tried as hard as you could.

You can definitely get your points reduced. When he said that they dont deduct points, you gain points i think you took it out of context. What he probably meant was that there is a common misconception that you "lose" points when you get a speeding ticket when you actually "get" points.

Yeah true. I just talked to a friend right now that got 4 ticket and accumulated 7 points. We're going to the laywer(agent), it's $210 for one case, if you get 4 tickets like him at once is considered one case. You have to put $100 down, and just forget about it, give them the ticket and just walk out and never have to worry again, they will take care of everything. This is the guy that led a cop on a speed chase and lost, nothing happened. Great "agent" he says.

Thanks, guys.

if you feel confident fighting it and be able to reduce it to 4 points then it's good for u, but if you think you might be nervous since it's your first ticket and it is pretty high..then probably 600 is worth it..either way it will also help your insurance not go sky high
