Got nailed on HWY
On the way to bevboy's place today I got nailed on the HWY doing 30 over. Yes it was purely my fault and I don't try to argue it wasn't. I shouldn't have been going so fast.
Thing was I didn't have all the right info with me, but the cop was cool and only wrote me up a speeding ticket. For sure I thought I was gonna get raped then and there. My question is, since the cop was cool enough to do that, should I bother going to court with it? Like I did court once for something last year, and they didn't show. All I really want to do is I plead plead guilty with an explanation, in the hopes that maybe the judge would remove the points. I'm not sure how many points it is for 30 over. I have a clean record, and would like to keep it that way if possible.
I have no issues in paying the fine, it was my fault and I'm aware of that.
PS: I just moved last week and haven't had a chance to visit the ministry. Is the fact that the address on the ticket is no longer correct a valid reason for dismissal of the case, or is just an error that the court can correct right then?

I always suggest people to plead not guilty....that way if the cop doesn't show up, it will get thrown out automatically.
If you plead guilty with an explanation, and the cop doesn't show up, you will still be convicted without him/her being there.
If you plead not guilty, and the cop does show up.....simply talk to them before hand. Most of the time they will lower it so it doesn't have points.
Either way, it's kinda a win win situation. If they don't show, you get off.......if they do show up, simply talk to them.

Yeah i had court on the day we had that huge snowstorm that crippled the city in January. I was 20 min late and actually got yelled at by a cop on York Mills when i was trying to get out to scarbs haha. Anyways I got in, within 5 min my case came yup and the cop wasn't there so they threw it out. That was 3 tickets and $400 in fines and 3 points
