Ugh....nailed for speeding

Down the DVP, doing 115 in a 90 zone. Any advice? I've got no prior speeding tickets up to this point and I've been driving for about 3-4 years. Does it matter that I got one of them "improper muffler" tickets as well as a "no horn" ticket a couple of weeks ago?

I'll probably fight it and talk to the prosecuter beforehand but what can I say to have the charges reduced? This was at 645 am on a sunday.

Lastly, how do I know how many points I got? Ticket doesn't say but the officer gave me a handy demerit point chart that says I should get 3.

Thanks for the help

20 over = 3 points
take it to court...first speeding ticket they will probably reduce to 15 over = 0 points

Yep. Ask for a first attendance with the prosecutor when you go in to request a court date. They will reduce it to 15 over no problem.

You could also choose to fight it in court and see if you could get off completely, but that's a lower percentage bet.

thanks for you input guys. I'll do that first attendance thing. I don't want to be greedy and that officer was a fairly nice guy. Now my improper muffler ticket, that's a different story....

Thanks again.

(btw i was pretty surprised to find that the dvp limit is 90) I know signs are there, but I've asked around and many are surprised as I.

yeah its 90km/h
but wtf thats one ******* cop, does the cop want everyone to go 90km/h?
115km/h is perfectly normal on the dvp especially early in the morning
just bring it to court, fight it, if he doesnt show up, u win
