Go to a garage and get a quote or a

1) New bumper
2) New paint job (for the bumper of course)
3) exam rebar damage, and if damaged
4) get a new rebar
with a price included labour

You should be looking at roughly 800 bucks for the above item, courtesy of your neighbourhood Honda Dealers.

Once she pays you the money, it is then up to you how to use that money. Or, she can have your car repair at one of the shop she knows, or another dealership and she will pay for it. So in that case, you won't be using the money on something else (techincally, you deserve this repair money, but you didn't use it on repairing the bumper).

If it weren't too much damage (hard to tell in the picture), I will just let it go. Bumper is there to take light damage (5km), it isn't that frigile. I got rear ended by a Peterbilt truck head 6 months ago, and I let it go. I only suffered a few scretches, and it was on 401 express lane during a bumper to bumper traffic. So I decided not to press charge and be a nice guy.

As for your pictures, I didn't clicked on them. After I did, I can see some deform on the bumper. Looks like you need a new one.

ull be able to find a new bumper pretty cheap in the for sale forums. ive seen em for around 60 bux. buy one of those then get it painted at a local bodyshop, they'll probably charge you like 200-300. Or PM team Rukus, ive heard he paints.

paint alone for my bumper is 200bucks...then labout to remove the bumper, fix it and reinstall is like 450bucks+ ...then I need a new bumper light which makes up the remainder of the costs

a new bumper alone from honda costs around 350bucks!!!...trust dude, it aint cheap at all

TranceaddicT,

Go to standard auto wreckers on sewells road in scarborough, in their "U-pick" yard they have two civic hatchbacks, both bumpers look to be in decent condition. Shouldn't cost you too much.

Painting bumpers is a bit more expensive as there are more ingredients in the paint they use, IF they do it correctly. Paint for bumpers usually have additional polymers allowing it to flex without cracking.

If she is going to pay you for the damage you could save some money that way and use the excess to buy something else for your car.
