hi all. i really need a new suspension setup because i swear my shocks are done just because everytime i go over a small bump the car goes wacky. i drive a 03 acura el, and in desperate need of some help choosing what to get.

is there any advantage to having a shock/spring setup over a coilover setup?
what brands should i get if i just want like a 1.7" drop, decent everyday drive, with a bit of performance for just playing around time to time, but mostly for everyday city driving.

im like a total noob so i dont know what makes one setup better than the next. what features should i be looking at ?

Tein springs Or eibach with tokico blue shocks is good for daily not so bumpy. If you want slammed, get function and form type 1 or type 2 with dampening. It depends on your budget too!

I recommend koni orange with eibach pro kit springs and larger sway bars.

a decent coilover set-up will do the job for you. like a function and form type one, or skunk2 tuner series. that way you can raise/lower your ride height when you want. if you want dampening adjust-ability, then you would have to purchase a higher level of kit like the function and form type twos.

really it all depends on the money you want to spend.. oh, and get an alignment after!!
