ahhh i see, so how would they know if to give ticket for failing to show insurance or a summons?

i don't know why everyone thinks im trying not get insurance, lol i was only defending that insurance is overated.

nice bike, lol yup thats definately a modded stunt bike. Yes, i'll definately come say hi, if i get decent insurance so i can afford both car and bike, if not, i'll still come by in my track car.lol

btw when i was mentioning my bikes, i mentioned them because so you would get an idea that no novice rider can ride such bikes as a bigginer, i started from 50cc,70cc,120cc,600cc, then litre bikes.

as you can tell im really against insurance companies because they charge so much.

one thing i always think is how do they determine the cost for each driver, because when i call RBC its some student working there who looks at my history and some how gives me a quote, so knowing that, doesn't that mean they use an automated system, basically a damm computer telling the person how much i should pay, isn't that wrong, i mean what does a computer know.

i was hoping to get a figure, but anyways i'll be checking out statefarm sometime after new years really busy nowadays.

anyways good luck to you all and thanks for your patients.

ps: yes im still young, you guys seem older, bare with me, i'll get there.lol
yes, i can be cocky about my skills, lol but thats just how it sounds online, the expressions and emotions are missing, so in person what i said before would have sounded more on the lines of sarcasm.

anyways,

happy new year and marry=x mas to you all, have a great year end.
not trying to be a dick, so please dont take this the wrong way...but here's a good question, if you have a busa, an r1, and a respol in europe...and obviously you have multiple vehicles (you said you'd meet him at the track with your "track" car) you obviously have some money coming in, and therefore shouldnt really need to worry about what insurance is going to cost you. and if you are concerned about how much it's going to cost here's another idea...sell one of your "many" beloved toys (maybe the ones in europe, seeing as you are in canada) and use the money to pay for the toys you have in this country. if you cant afford to pay the insurance, why have all these toys? it's like having a trailer queen. whats the point in having a car that lives in a trailer, and not driving it??

again, i'm not just saying this to be a dick or to cause ****, just though i'd ask and it's just my point of view on this...thanks

Hey, no problem, i understand.

The reason why i don't sell my toys in europe is because we live there as a joint family, so we have many cousins who live together on a big property, so its kinda different there,we can afford to keep the toys there, i was young before and owning property and stuff was how we got the money, but the canadian dollar is really high right now so the conversion rate is really bad, but like i said before i don't mind $1000 or even $2000, but anything more than that i'd be waisting money, even if someone has money they should spend it wisely, i hope you understand, and im currently a student, i'm going back to university, so i don't take money from my parents thats why im kinda tight on the budget.

As for selling my other bikes, i couldn't i just love to ride them when i go for vacation.

But yea i might sell my car that i have here in spring, and get a bike for the season, and later buy a winter beater, what ever happens, i'll manage, thanks for the advice.

happy holidays.

I Think riding without insurance is not a good idea. While others may point out that the fines can be less than the policies depending on the rider and the bike, don't forget there is a range of punishment that can be handed out. So it you get the full treatment the law can provide it will be a while before you are able to walk properly once more.

i would say, no matter what, if you buy a modern 600, insurance will cost more than the bike. I was 23 when i rode my 1995 CBR 600, and insurance was $2800. The bike was only $3800. and i shopped around quite a bit and had my M2. (+ rider safety course)

If you are 21 with a clean record and cash, i recommend:

1) registering your bike in a parent's name (if one of your parents have M1 or M2) because insurance will be SUPER cheap for 2nd rider.

2) get a bike with less cc. Insurance companies will give you better rates. and the new 250 ninjas are SICKKKKK

3) wait till you are 25, then put your bike and your car with State Farm for a SUPER LOW rate.

Otherwise, you'll be looking at paying a TONNE of money for a 6 month riding season. for more info, visit www.gtamotorcycle.com
there is an insurance forum there

last note: honestly tho, IMO there is NO greater feeling than riding a sports bike. the sense of freedom and INTENSE acceleration... worth every penny

hope that helps!

haha yea it all helps pretty much having to wait...and then you tell me its the best thing in the world for a sports bike haha. Its either get a bike or continue with my car and my dad does have his license and he's got an 1100 shawdow sabre and ive driven it around in the parking lot but i dont think a cruiser is for me....i just liek the feel of the sport bikes...i ride my new sled like one so i kinda wanna take that feel into the summer months.

Thanks for the input bud

start with an ex250 ( i think its now the 250R) by kawasaki or the ex500.
Suzuki has the GS500F that isn't that bad.

or wait til you're 25. You'll see a crazy drop in your rates. Trust me. also the first year will be more just because you are a new rider, but after than expect your rates to go down substantially.

Sorry, I was reading this topic for the insurance help, and it got to this huge argument. I could not help myself, but this is the most ridiculous statement I've ever heard. Since when does it ever say "All the way" under the stop sign? It says "All Way", which let's you know all directions have a stop, so you can precede safely without worrying about getting t-boned. When it doesn't say "All Way", that's how you know you precede with caution after stopping, ensuring nobody is flying down in the non-stop direction. If it doesn't say "All Way", that's not a cue that the stop sign is optional?

As said above, the $65 was failure to provide insurance, meaning you have insurance, just not on you. Not having insurance period is an automatic summons to court, and a huge dent in your bank account.

Thanks for the entertainment pal.
