just picked up one of these yesterday for my XTi

not the best lens - but brand new for $99 bucks i couldn't say no... until i save up for a serious lens (17-200 IS USM would be fine for me) that's in the hundreds of dollars range...

can't wait to take some shots with it i'll def post 'em up when i do...

Really vivid colour, and some of those pics really capture the action. Nice work.

Here's and extreme macro shot for yall using a normal lens...the lens was about 1.5cm from the subject and this was my normal 28mm-70mm lens with a normal minimum focus distance of about 6"

tell me what it is and how I did it!

im not really sure what it is... but did you use that technic were you mount the lens onto the camera backwards?

you can buy an adapter ring mount that screws to the front of the lens and then mounts on the camera like a normal lens...I dont have one so I just held it there to see how well it works

Hey Matt...im finally in the DSLR club..lol...thanks to this thread created by you and then there was no looking back. I got the Canon Rebel 350D as a birthday gift....just learning on it right now as this thing is pretty techy.

Ive been reading up on this and its all about the lenses eh...i need a sharp lens i think...but i guess i will first learn on the stock 18-55mm first for some time before getting something nicer and sharper...i checked the canon's EF 50MM F1.4 lens...damn it had good results.

And for my love of long exposure shots..lol
