well if you didnt notice...the picture is completely orange and no whites are present and thats the point of a correct white balance. now to correct it without the picture being shot in RAW format is next near impossible without totally degrading the picture quality...but u can correct it some what with photoshop to get it to look more "normal"

the following pic was taken without any wb filter at all. personally...i like the cyan/fl setting as it gives a nice effect.

speaking of wb matt.....what similarity do u see in the pic i posted of brant st. and what the photographer tried to achieve in the shot below.

i guess the diff would be the distance/depth in this case...my pic had a short distance for everything that was in it. for longer distance plus if you have the lens needed.....it will turn out quiet nice.

just a high level comparison.

well in the picture above, there is more open space like the water and sky...and I cant really tell with that picture what the actually scenery woulda been like if it was correctly balanced...but I'm goin to assume that its really pretty much monochromatic in the first place (no greens, red, blues etc) so the correct wb woulda made the picture look bland and shallow where as leaving it or making it monochromatic kinda brings it together...whereas the picture u took u know the road is black, the cars are different colours etc...also on the magazine cover there is also a good possibility thats almost what it looked like from across the water due to the lighting...There are many factors that wb can affect and for the most part a correct wb is crucial for capturing the mood and moment as it happened and in the very least capture it in the correct white balance and then play with it after to set the mood you want...always work off a clean slate or as close to clean as possible
