I think he asked you a legit question that a lot of people consider when going type R or GSR. This question is: if you had $5000 for the swap and labour, what would you buy, a stockish Type R or a GSR with wilder cams, cam gears, aftermarket header??
The reason is because with the same money, its been proven time and time again that you can have a faster motor with $5,000.
I think this is what the dood was asking in JDM-r. I'm interested to know as well.
Regardless though, nice swap. I know someone with a spoon tuned JDM Type R and it was quick.
I agree, he asked a valid question. It's a debate that will never end, this topic. My issue was the way he was asking and having the conversation. He was very confrontational. Very pushy. Basically said in less words that I'm an idiot for doing the swap that I did, I should have done gsr and boosted it.

That's his opinion.
And here's to hoping it's a spoon tuned type r. Should be getting it dyno'd and played with in the early early spring. like, as soon as the weather says no more snow =P

I dont go on ****. or Post on ****. they can be very douchy. dont worry about that people tell you to do. you have a gem in your car and you're proud of it. thats all that matters.

Whats to say that you pay to get a faster engine but it blows 6 months down the road. I think you went the right route. Beautiful engine.

Those bolded words above are so true. As long as you're doing what keeps you content, that's the important thing--everyone else will have their opinion, but that's just life.

Did your swap comes with spoon ECU? If not you might have issue with the engine. Dont wot it yet until you have it dataloged.

I think the swap is done very nicely. Since i dont know the cost i cant say if its a good choice power for the money.

Have you searched for your options b4 doing the swap ? There are lots of NA builds for cheap too. JDM has always been known for expensive bling.

**Long over due update!**

So back in November, after like two weeks of the old exhaust, the noise got to me. Took it off, sold it, got an Apexi WorldSport II exhaust. Absolutely LOVE it! Sorry for the poor quality cell pic. Will update with better ones later.

Just picked up these goodies today! pswrd JDM carbon fibre whale ***** intake, ******** front strut bar. Installed in minutes. Also picked up a type r front lip which will go on in the spring when the whole body gets work done. Still need to get a type r rear lip..forgot that today..

PICS!! (sorry for the poor cellphone quality..)

Forgot to mention, by the end of the month, I'm doing an exedy stage 1 clutch, lightened flywheel and an ls fifth gear swap.
After that? Body work in the spring. Type R front and rear lips, maybe a mugen spoiler, haven't decided. Definitely headers sometime in the near future. Gotta get it tuned and dyno'd in the spring. Headers probably will come before that.

Still up in the air for rims. I like the SIR look, but EVERYONE and their grandmother is rocking SIR rims. I found a nice pair of Konigs that I like, though.

This site really needs to let you edit your posts. Sorry for the THIRD post, but here's a better pic taken a few minutes ago.

Heeey anton, whats good, man? The ws2 is worth every penny, seriously man. I wouldn't trade mine for the world. The whalepenis is monstrous!!! Makes the car sound like a beast. Now i just have to get a header...no clue which one though..

How's your car coming along? you should make your own thread.

Your car is FAR from a piece of ****. Little rust don't make it ****. I've seen MUCH worse out there, I'm sure you have too. But you've done a **** load of the work yourself, you should be proud of that. I'm not so mechanically inclined.

How's the b16 treating you? Is the headers all you've done to it? That's the last thing I have to do for mine. What kind did you get? I have NO clue where to start. I want some good ones.

Check out the first page for clean engine bay. My update? It's filthy. However, soon as spring comes, the whole car is getting detailed. Inside, completely cleaned and washed as much as I can, engine bay shampood, and the outside is getting sanded, painted, buffed, bumpers realigned and gaps taken care of, and front and rear type r lips put on. MAYBE a mugen wing...still undecided on that.. Rims too, undecided. SIR rims look great, but everyone has them. I have a nice pair of konig 16's that I found that I like that aren't that expensive at all. We'll see though.
