What would be the problem

I have a good idea, but I'd like other opinions.

I have shaved door handels so I have the electric door poppers. All it is is a electromagnet. 12V + and a ground connection. So when I hit a button on my alarm, it sends a small signal to my 5 pin relay which triggers 12V's to the door which in turns hauls the magnet which hauls the cable which is connected to the handel. So the handel actually moves (Like a ghost opening the door )

Still with me?

When I took car out of storage, I put a new alternator in and a new battery. Nothing special. Normal Canadian Tire battery. Door popped on the first click of the button for weeks.

Then, it took 2 hits of the button. Meaning, the first one triggered the popper, moved the handel, but not 100%, like 95% of the way. BUt the second time, it opened.

Now, it is taking 2 times, up to 7 even, or not at all. Than handel is getting pulled, but not that 100%. When I do get in the car and start it up, I hit the button, and it goes first click.

My guess is my battery just doesn't cut it all the time.

Common, help a burdder out

check the slack in the cable...over time shyt like that stretches so it might need an adjustment
other than that make sure the ground is good
