Hello everyone

Hello everyone. My Car Audio knowledge is equivalent to that of a preschoolers. Thats a problem for me because anything I do to my cars has to be done right.

I never really new the difference between a car with an ok sound system and an amazing one. I experienced a really nice sounding system when I got a chance to ride in a friends friends town car. I couldn't believe how good it sounded. All I know is I want that for my car. The problem is I don't know anything, so I am here to learn.

Best thing you can do is go vist the guys at Audio Heaven, or Selective Sound. Talk to them and im sure they will get you on the right track to a sweet sounding system! I know they have helped me a few times!!

there is no need to end up at an affiliate or shop if you dont know the difference b/w a good or great sound system. they are busy selling and may not have time to give you a whole lot of basic info that you need at where you stand.

that amazing sound typically comes from aftermarket decks, speakers, subs and components etc. stock or factory systems are not designed to sound or compete that way. sky is the limit here when you are out for shopping.

i suggest you pick up a few brochures of audio equipment from futureshop/bestbuy or some car sound mags from a store and start reading. once you familiarize yourself with the nuts and bolts.....then go and talk to experienced ppl to learn from their experience.

Aftermarket is deffinitely the way to go, some high quality speakers and a nice deck, then you can power the speakers off a 2 or 4 channel amp and then get another amp to power a single sub would sound good, thats basically what I got in my car, Alpine type-s speakers all around, a nice mp3 deck (which im going to change next summer, to one with ipod control) and then a mono amp in the trunk with a single 10" infinity sub, pounds hard, good all around sound, deffinitely turns some heads
