I'm curious as to how to setup the front sound stage in regards to balancing the left and right channels. I just want it to sound "equal". I know you can use fancy analyzers and stuff but if you want to do it by ear, how would you go about it?
Can you just sit in the center between the driver and passenger seats and adjust the amp/eq gain accordingly or do you sit in the drivers seat?
I also have a VERY old IASCA cd. Would that help in any way?
Or if anyone is willing to set it up for me that'd be great too
Thanks

What are you running? Are the speakers in the doors? or kick panels? Dash?
As a general rule, kicks are best because the angle that they are pointed towards your ear is alot closer than if they were mounted in the doors.
What I mean is, if you had kicks aimed, look at the angle they are aimed at, then you will notice that the length of the path from the speakers to your ear is very close from either one, alowing the sound to get to your ear at the relative same time.
With speakers in the doors, the problem is that they are usualy aimed at your legs, and your drivers side speaker will get to you first because its closer to your ear than the other one.

You can get an external processor or some of the higer end decks, I have an Alpine 7894, have time alignment adjustments built into the deck. This allows you to time delay each of the 4 speakers to make it sound like the drivers seat is the centre of the sound stage. You just set the speakers that are closer to you with a higher time delay than the ones farther away from you.

Poor mans? lol car audio is not a poor mans hobby lol.
To make kicks yourself will run you about $60. You can always make mdf spacers rings and install them in the door to sirt of "aim your speakers more towards the headrest of each seat.
