as for DV people don't seem to realize that to make a DV worth it you have to pay a lot more than that. Cheap DV's, yes they have more res and are smaller, but as for durablity and machanics they will not last like a good Hi-8 at half the price.

YOu know I love my cameras so if you need help finding a good one I can help, but at under $500 it is hard to find something reliable. I used to have a viewcam but it ran out of battery too fast, so I went Sony.

The only thing I would have to tell you about that camera is that because it has no view finder it will eat batteries other than that it is a good camera for the price. If you are thinking of going DV I suggest Panasonic for a very good quality, light weight, well designed camcorder. I used to sell these things and one like that will run $1200 for one to be worth it

Optical zoom is also better than digital zoom..

One is done by Lenses the other by electronics....

Pawn shops on Queen East are a good place to look for a deal..

Crackheads will "sell" or "steal" anything...

Someones loss is your gain..

Thanks guys. I don't think I'll p/u one from a pawn shop (warranty issues ) I saw a mini DV (Samsung) @ futureshop for $699. Is that any good? Don't want to spend THAT much. Just want something reliable, good quality, "cheap" considering I won't use it too often.

Even tho there's no view finder, I probably wouldn't use it if it had one cuz I find it easier looking @ the LCD screen.

What about the LUX? 0.8 good or is 1 better?
