Audio installation help
I'm installing a device where I can't use screws to hold it in place. I've seen install shops use some kind of adhesive to do this. It MUST withstand extreme heat and cold (cuz it's inside the car) but be able to hold this unit in place. The unit, I would say, is about 2lbs or less in weight. It'll be mounted to plastic.
I was thinking of glue from a hot glue gun. Would this work??
Anyone??

I would use contact cement and velcro.
Contact cement the velcro to the surface you want to attach the part to. Do the same thing to the part as well.
Wait until it dries. Should work like a charm. Use as much velcro as you see fit.
If you just use the velcro, the sticky stuff on the back won't last......it will come off as soon as it gets really cold (like now), or hot (like in the summer). Contact cement doesn't have this problem. Use the "LE'PAGE" brand. Can't remember which one is better for extreme conditions.....the red can or the blue can.
And remember to sand both surfaces too.
But remember, once it's on, it's almost impssible to clean/remove the glue with out a special cleaner.:working:
Measure twice, do it once.
