6x9s in EG coupe backseat panels

6x9s in EG coupe backseat panels
Has this ever been done? my idea is to put my 6x9s in the backseat of my eg on both sides of the backseat in the panels, (picture below) but im not sure if it'll hold up, if anyone can help let me know.

I got 6" speakers there in my hatch, it holds quite well.

can i drill out the 6x9 hole then screw in the screws for the speaker onto the plastic? or should i put some support behind it?
