ZC swap should i do it?
#2
a built ZC is faster than B16 and GSR, cheap power and cheaper to maintain than a B-series engine
i have stock ZC in my EG hatch with ZC ECU and intake and it's already a lot faster than any D-series engines
and i am getting 600km per 40L of gas

In my opinion....get a D15b-vtec. The thing loves HIGH REV's!
Get yourself a good intake, header and full exhauts system.
Then get yourself an adj. cam gear, port/bore tb to intake manifold 60mm tb. And tune it. It will hit 140whp+/-.
I've seen this motor rev to 8,500 daily! with a stg.2 cam springs and retainers...made 147whp.
If you need a MINT D15b-vtec... motor let me know

both of us has same DX tranny, exhaust and intake, otherwise it's pretty much stock
i had so many SOHC VTECs (D16Z6, D16Y8, F22, J32, D15) b4 and now i have a ZC, but i really have to admit that DOHC engines are better in the high end
and my ZC comes with a hydro tranny which is 92+ as the D15B, not the cable tranny ones from the 80s

I've had 2 DOHC zc set-ups one in an ef and one in an eg. There "ok"...but after market parts for them are not like the D15b-vtec. The jdm D15b-vtec = D16z6. The entire head is virtually the same except the bigger camshaft the jdm d15b-vtec has. The bottom ends are diff and the d15b's have better r/s ratios.
Stock DOHC ZC vs Stock D15b-vtec... are pretty much the same performance wise stock vs stock. But the D15b's love high rev's, the Dohc zc's dont really like em.
So really if you just want a stock motor "maybe" u could consider a dohc zc ( i would still recomend a d15bvtec though ) but if u don't want it stock grab a jdm d15bvtec and if you wanna do a serious build D16z6!
