zc help

zc help

I just installed my dohc non v-tec engine in my 88 crx si...and the hood is hitting the engine...any way i can prevent this???

get the ZC hood, or just cut a little section of the hood webbing.

Remove the cam gear cover so the belt and the gears are exposed.

Worked for my buddies EF.

but then if his motor flexes while shifting or whatever, and the belt hits the hood *RRIIIPPPP* the belt tears and snaps, and his motor becomes a paperweight.

This is also true..

I have seen this done on several cars.

My buddies was fine for 3 years then he sold the car..

Meh..

I hope it lasts for another 3 years....since its in my family now. Now I know why the cover isn't there, and why I never see them (the ZC cover) on any of the other ZC/EFs on Honda Tech.

ohhh that one!! that is a good one...

James, I'd look into Energy Suspension motor mount inserts to stiffen things up. An ounce of prevention....

DOHC ZC in a crx hits?

We put it into my brother's 89 CRX SI, stock hood, everything closes perfectly..
