What should i look out for when buying used fullcoilovers??

To night im going out to look at a set of used full coil overs, can any one please give me some tips on what to look when buying them??? like i want to make sure there not blown or any thing? how can i tell olease let me know asap thanks alot

pull on the shock and look if there are any noticeble scratches on the shaft pump up the shocks and feel if there is a dead spot when you compress and rebound them.... (if you are pushing the shock in or out there should be equal pressure through out if its hard when you push it back in then all of a sudden it feels easy at a spot then goes hard again there might be a problem
