i got a set of R-1 coilover.

none ... stock shocks were engineered for stock springs .. and stock ride hieght...

get aftermarket shocks... do it right or leave it alone... you'll thank me later...

You can go upto a 2" drop, but I would stay a bit higher than that. I had a 1.8 1.5 on my old car (had it for almost 3 years), and I got it that way from the previous owner (which had it for almost 4 years before I got my hands on the car).

The car still had the original shocks on it, and they had yet to leak/fuqk up.

gatherer, you put 5 people (including the driver) in your car, and you will easily exceed a 2" drop on the stock suspension.

I'll second none.

Like when its all appart, why not spend the extra money and upgrade the shocks.... take a minute to think about the bounciness of stock shocks on a lower ride.

Don't cheap out when lowering a car.

1.5 should be ok, but you should always spend the extra cash for a set of aftermakets.
Either way you're going to have to spend the money whether if its now or later on. Why not save yourself the troubles and do it all at once.
Besides its winter now .. wait until spring and see if you can get the reciepts for all those x-mas presents and see if you can spring for a set of shocks. LOL

My shocks have finally started to leak. I have H&R race on may car and was wondering what shocks you would recomend. Red/Yellow and what is the major differenc between the them?
BTW is it safe to drive on leaking shocks, i suspect theonly major issue will be more bounce? One last thing, what's the cost difference between the reds/yellow?

to answer the question before the first one..... I've seen them used on a few different race cars... they are well priced strong and adjustable

to answer the first question ..... simple I'm lazy

to answer the third question

sure if you want to get ripped off.... you can find them for cheaper I specifically priced them high because they are going on my car

Exclamation my opinions, based on personal experiences.

i've had a personal experience w/ agx's...
i was dissapointed. not much of a diff, even after tinkering w/ the settings.. i should have saved up and bought the best- konis

i believe there are some really good springs out there that works great w/ stock shocks, the name's PROGRESS SPRINGS...

a nice, 2.5" or so drop, amazing ride overall, through experience, even w/ the stock 6th gen shocks. mind you, the car/shocks only had 60k on it.

who's tired of this guy???

again, the progress springs worked great on stock shocks in a 6th gen, through my experience, and i didn't have such a great time w/ the agx's-h&r race combo.

we're all sorry that our opinions through experience are wrong, and can't all be right like you mister dingus8. honestly, do u get enjoyment out of proving ppl wrong or just simply mocking the posts above on the net or something?.

man, loosen up ur dreadlocks u ****** clown.

AGX's weren't made for a drop past 1.5 inches the H and R race is a 2 inch drop at least.....
