Turbo info

i have a D16A(JDM version of the si) and i'm planning to go turbo. How much would it cost to hook one up on my car(parts&labour), or should i go junkyard turbo(build one up) which is better if u don't have to much cash to blow?

Hey Gen,
I think Edelbrock just made a kit for your motor.

Definitely alot cheaper making one yourself i estimated about 1500 depending how much boost you wanna go. Going on stock internals thru AFC hack. Just make sure you do alot of research else your gonna blow your **** up lol Happy boosting

$1500... good luck LOL If you want any sort of reliability from your kit... well, let's put it this way, I'm in over $3500 for parts alone on the custom turbo I'm doing. The breakdown of this pricing I will not share with you, except to say...a couple hundred bux here and there really adds up fast

As for you, you have a JDM engine... which to me sounds like high compression, I would realllly recommend you look at your internals before you go any further.

i'll definetely do my homework first before i actually plug the turbo in. I'm planning on running with a small intercooled turbo and the most i'm going to run is 6 psi. I actually purchase a TD04 turbo from the first gen eclipse/talon for $86 u.s with an external wastegate. This is a good price right? according to the seller this turbo has 41 K and has no shaft play whatsoever and i have a buddy of mine look at it and he said it was a solid deal. Anyways how much would it cost for me to get a custom manifold for this turbo that would bolt into my car and what other parts do i still need to pic up? thanks in advance
