would be better if posted in the performance section but ill give it a shot at answering.
single turbo is fine, just depends on your goals. If you want alot of hp you would be more likely to go with a turbo that has a bit of turbo lag but flows alot more air when it gets into boost. Most people with turbo cars use smaller turbos that spool up real quick but dont flow as much air as the larger turbo's
Twin turbo would be nice but probably hard to install into a honda. The idea of having a smaller turbo that spools up almost instantly and then having the larger turbo come on down the rpm range so your power band doesnt drop off is nice but alot of work to working right i would think.
If you wanted to do a turbo in your civic go with a single turbo with like a 57 trim wheel and a .48 or .63 ar.

If you want a decent gain but nothing too crazy, a small one is fine, like a T25
If you want more HP, step up to a bigger turbo.
For twin turbo, it is definitely doable on a Honda, and it has been done. But for the most part, single turbo will do the job.

twins dont make sense unless A) your upgrading a car that already has twins B) you can by a mass produced kit made for your car alla the greddy 350z kit or C) your going for the wow factor, otherwise single is the way to go

on a Civic, there is no need for twin turbo cuz you'll prolly never use a huge turbo.
other cars, it's debatable, yet most RX7 and Supra guys convert to single turbo if they are serious about power.
BTW, there is a guy on Hondatech that twin turbocharged a D-series Civic just to show it could be done. His results were less than impressive but it looked great.

Do yourself a favour and stick to a single if u do twin it will deffinatly be custom and wont work all that great and it will cost large dollers. single turbo already costs alot, considering upkeep, the cost itself, 94 octane or up gas, tunning (not cheap), a smaller like a t25 will do fine on a civic if u stay with stock internals, i have a t3/t4 and it is plenty big, and not really that much lag, some of it can be tunned out. so i think u should do a single and have some fun with it.

hmmm too much complications ...how much hp u think is possible to pull out of a b18c5 on n/a trim

250 would be next to impossible to achieve on a "streetable" motor.
etd is only putting down 270 whp on their allmotor race car setup and take a look at that motor....
200whp is hard enough to get n/a.

You can get to between 200-210 whp without having to start porting the head. I think htats what I usually read over on honda-tech, I'm not a NA guy though

twin turbo's work well when there are two banks of cylinders to feed two turbos....i.e. V6 or V8...especially sequential. Small turbo to build pressure quickly and alleviate lag then a larger turbo for lots of air flow.
