installed my autometer tach today into the new car, works fine till i hit 5k's rpms and higher then it just all of a sudden jukps to its limit of 8k's..this is on a gsr motor btw, any ideas whats wriong?.....im thinking my grounds no good. i just grounded it to the stereo ground.

i was just gonna say check ur grounds as well, did u purchace this tach brand new or used?

Ground it to the chassis somewhere, that shud do it.

so do auto gauge tachs... do you have the right number of cylinders selected on the tach

ya, it came out of my other car where it was working fine (dohc zc)....but ya wires were cut for the 4cyl application..im pretty sure its just my ****ty ground.
