you can try adjusting the throttle plate stopper screw, but adjusting it too much can cause the throttle plate to not close properly and cause a high idle. BE CAREFUL when adjusting this screw, as it should be adjusted properly from the factory, but you never know if someones messed with it before.

if zeeman lived closer to me i'd go all the small little things like this sticky throttle cable checked out instead of paying some less knowledgeable mechanic and the local garage 60+$/hr to check it.

ahhh...you're too kind.
I will probably be buying a house closer to the GTA in a year or so. Where i am now sucks b/c it doesn't have a garage.

i solved this problem by mistake, lol. i pressure washed my engine bay, which cleared the gunk off the throttle cable assembly where it attaches to the throttle body (it looked liek new once i was done washing). after that the throttle was as stiff as ever so i sprayed some wd40 on it and it worked perfectly with no more sticking. maybe this can help someone else out.

^forget that. Lubing it with wd40 ended up being a temporary solution. Best way to return the smooth feel is to remove the intake tube from the throttle body, spray some throttle body cleaner where the throttle plate pivots and use a toothbrush toclean out all the carbon. mine was sticking because of the carbon buildup around the pivot point. i also sprayed it where the throttle cable attaches on the outside to get rid of all the oil and wd 40 i sprayed and i swear the thing feels better now, then it did when i first got it. hope this helps the people with this problem

Mine kind of sticks as well... Like when I press the pedal it feels kind of like there is a slight stick before I can get it going smoothly. I think I am just going to change my throttle cable though because after I got my engine swapped the guy that installed it just hacked my old throttle cable for it to work.

Oh by the way is it difficult to change a throttle cable?
