Most likely it could be the caliper bracket that has play. U bring the car on the hoist and try to move the caliper. Maybe there is play there. Also check your endlink bushings. They might be loose and need to be replaced. Is not your ball joint. Ball joint is not that sound.

I hear a knocking as well when my car oscillates back and forth when coming to a stop. I think its my front swaybar bushings. I've had the problemf or awhile now, just haven't fixed it.

i have a similar problem...except when i hit the gas from a stand still (ex: @ a light) i hear a "clunk" noise but then i dont hear it while driving...i only hear it that time or when i go over speed bumps on the driver side..
any clues? I have new lower ball joints (sept) & upper control arms (camber kit).. Could it be bushings? lower control arm?
its been bugging me for a while..

any input would be great!
