SIR bb and m/c same as Si

My buddy picked up a used sir bb and m/c for his gsr swap on his 99 EL.

The m/c size is exactly the same as what he has now on his EL, 15/16. So is this true Si and SIR are the same?

Since hes doing a gsr does it matter if he uses the Si/SIR or should he find a gsr.

well 96+ si - 2 discs - 2 drums with abs

sir -4 wheel discs with abs

gsr - 4 wheel discs with abs

el - 2 discs - 2 drums with abs

now this gsr swap is motor swap or suspension/brake swap?

they are probably the same , all of them , its just the proportioning valves are different,
cause some cars have 4 wheel discs +abs

and some have drum rears

Hi Matt,
yes, si and sir share the same MC and BB. but NOT the GSR. 99-01 GSR uses the same MC and BB with 99-01 ITR. I'm using my stock MC/BB (15/16") with GSR front calipers. Nothing wrong so far. But i'm sure if u go for 1" MC/BB, u'll hv better pedal feeling. hope it helps.

Did you just swap out the front calipers from the GSR onto your existing brackets or did you have to swap the whole thing?

yeah, all non-VTEC 6th gens have 13/16, and all VTEC 6th gen got 15/16, even the SIR. I use it to power 4 piston calipers, and the 15/16 MC is totally up to the task!!

Si and EL share all front susp and brake parts
