short shifters

hey i was wonder lots of ppl are telling me short shifters are bad for the tranny and other ppl tell me it won't affect the tranny...any inputs ?

iv heard its bad for the tranny.. but i dont realy believe it. iv had mine for over a year and it still shifts perfect. it think it could be bad if you slam it into gear compared to a stock shifter

yeah if you power shift like a mook, then the synchros don't have time to match gear speed and you eventually kill the synchros. so yeah, SS can be bad for the tranny.

I've never ****ed up a tranny with a short shifter...but I have ****ed up some short shifters though

By the steel ones if you do get one.

man, there should be a manditory "search" that gets prompted before people post their questions. Its getting old seeing the same questions over and over.

I've had a short shifter in my car for 4 years, my tranny is fine.
