Rims don't fit, 96 Civic SI HELP!!!
Hi, i just installed Konig Rated R's with Goodyear 215/40/17 tires on my girlfriends car..
She has stock shocks on Eibach Sportlines..
Problem is that it rubs like crazy on the fender..
Do you guys have problems with this size? i am not sure of the offset..
How much does it cost to roll the fenders... HELP!!

$hit,
On the website Konig website, it says it fits 215/40/17 on civics!
It rubs on turns, it rubs on bumps, and their is alreayd wear on the fender..
Is it hard to roll the fenders?? Or should i get a body shop to do it?? and if so how much does it cost?? If not i have to get rid of the rims and rubber..

Take it to a shop to roll it.........i wouldnt want paint cracking on me, unless i was expecting a new paint job soon.
Look at your rear tires, there is no way that you have enough clearance for the wheels to be tucked while going over a bump
I have 215 rubber on my 17's and they are and look wide, but it's hell if your lowered ( unless you've rolled the fenders ).
Their is a post somewhere i believe that 94EG6HB posted containing a link to a site that takes you through all the steps involved in rolling the "lip" using a baseball bat?
G'luck

Sure! great idea unless you have a 1/2" of gap...anyone got a 1/2" baseball bat?!? Mine rub like a bugger too and they're 205-40-17, 215 is too wide for a Civic... I either need narrower rims or a higher offset...or both.

Jack your car up, i'm sure you'll have enough clearance then, and i have 205/40/17 i'm lowered too and i haven't rubbed even once, i only had that problem on the 5th gen hatch, but now with the 6th gen coupe it's not a problem, i think it's the 215's that make it rub because my 205 are at the limit i think, when the tire tucks under for a bump or whatever there's like 2 mm of space between the tire and the edge of the fender, if i had 215's i'd rub for sure....

first thing get rid of those 215 tires...i can only imagine how bad the rubbing is. change to a 205 tire, that should eliminate some the rubbing, if not all of it.
also, it could be that your is too low with sportlines. SilverSiG who also has a 6th has 205/40/17 but he has the prokits and he's to the limit. you must be tucking if you have sportlines.
first change the tires and then maybe the springs to a spring that doesn't lower the car as much. you won't have to return the rims, but you'll have to get rid of those 215 tires.

ED,
wussup its yasser from down the street!!
A friend of mine has sportlines on his 99 si, he's got 17's 40mm offset with 205/40/17 tires. he also has a camber kit on the front and did the 'washer trick' on his rear wheels.. so all 4 wheels are straight. he gets rubbing on the front wheels during u-turns and such.
I have 16x7's, 40mm offset with 205/45/16 tires on my 98 si, also with sportlines and had some rubbing in the front for 2 weeks, but after getting an alignment it stopped. switching to 205/40 tomorrow
if you want to stick with those rims, you'll be safe (minimal rubbing) with 205/40's... lates!!
