Seats That Do & Don't Fit In An EK Hatch

Since no one had answers for me when I was asking, I thought I'd make a post to let people know what does and doesn't fit in an EK hatch.

GSR Fronts (94-01) 3 of the 4 bolts fit, just swap the inner rails from stock seats to make all 4 fit.

GSR Fronts (90-93) DO NOT FIT WITHOUT HEAVY MODIFICATION

GSR Rears - I've read on here that it works if you use the bottom cushin from a sedan, but the back pieces from the coupes ARE COMPLETLEY DIFFERENT! I had them in for a day, then took them out cuz the only thing holding them in place was the clip on the sides.

RSX Rears - PERFECT FIT!! The best way to go if you want leathers in your whip.

RSX Fronts - Fit, BUT WITH MODIFICATION to the brackets that bolt into the floor (you have to break the rivits/welds and put the brackets NOT THE RAILS the brackets from your stock seats on the RSX seats)

I just put the RSX rear leather seats in my EK, tonight I'm picking up the fronts (already moddified for me cuz previous owner has a 98 hatch )

Hope this helps.

Feel free to add additions (such as CTR/ITR seats) AS LONG AS YOU HAVE ACTUALLY DONE IT AND ARE SURE. So many a**holes gave me false info when I was asking questions, don't post if you haven't tried it yourself

Did you not need to cut the plastic sides for the RSX rears to fit? or is that only in a coupe/sedan

I just put in some 01 gsr seat in my 98 ek... they go right in when you swap the rails from the original civic seats....the back dose not fit at all.. seat is to small an the back rest dont fit either ... im sure with some mods it will go but it might look like **** and might not be to safe... waste of time..

no cutting, everthing fits fine (the cushion is only held on by the one bolt on the back because the metal pieces underneath dont line up) theres a small gap on each side of the cushion though

GSR Fronts (94-01) 3 of the 4 bolts fit, just swap the inner rails from stock seats to make all 4 fit.

I have the seats in my 96 civic and what i did was drill the 4th hole to line up so it can fit. I remember looking at the rails and the stock civic seat rails are about half an inch taller so you would have to replace both rails not just the inner ones. The Integra rails are lower so you sit lower, its perfect for me cause im tall so i dont touch the roof now with my head. lol

Or you can buy Mugen rails but they are expensive, i was just looking at a set on ebay and sold for over $450 new in the box. Way over my price range thats for sure. lol

Is this only in reference to a coupe/sedan? I have a hatch, does everything line up correctly? Does any modification need to be made?

^^ i have a hatch, it bolts in no prob, but the metal prongs that you hook down wont be secured, so you can lift the bench at the front of it

CL Type S seats.... 8 way pwr Adj...leather...heater..airbags.. the whole bit. I have a set and I bought them from a guy who had them in his EK.

In my DC 3/4 bolts line up, The main Anchor bolt didn't work but you can swap the rails around to get the proper inner track.

BTW These seats are forsale just pm me haha

just adding some info on the gsr rear seat for the ek hatch... you can install them by swaping the sponge and the upholstery just like you do with the from rails.. it work perfect i just did it and looks great.. all you do is snap off all the wire clips holding the upholstery then its all comes right off... but to get the sponge and material over the release **** just strech it and pull it over dont try to remove it!!! it wont come off , plus you will break it.... once you are done the swap use plastic zip ties to strech the material on the oem civic seat frame, then just put them back in like you took them out and your all done... its really easy took me about an hour to do it .....

lol..thanx for the replies guys NOTTT haha

anyways just an update...
I have a 2000 CX EK HATCHBACK MODEL

and I installed 1996-2000 EL seats in the front...these leather seats bolt up perfectly..no mods needed ...
and then installed RSX leather seats in the back..the only thing is...the seats feel much lower in the back than the civic seats, so you kind of feel like your sitting way too low...other than that...in terms of the bolt up, the bottom cushion doesnt plug in properly..little modification is needed to get the two bolts in place...and the top two cushions bolt up perfectly and no mod is needed...and yes the sides do have a little bit of gap, but doesnt look too bad

it's just the 2 hooks at the bottom that dont fit right on the bottom cushin, the little metal loop that bolts in lines up perfect. How did you get the 2 hooks to line up?

I couldnt get the two metal pieces lock in...i just left it for now..the seats dont move unless you lift them up lol...

im thinking of some creative ideas, non of which really worked thus far..the only thing i can think of is taking it to a body shop and see if they willing to alter the bracket for me...but for now...i have two ropes looped through the metal pieces and have em tied down to this hinge close to the seat belts in the front..hard to explain...but the rope is tucked in thru the carpet.so u cant see anything...lol
