i'm planning on getting a catback exhaust. 2.5" mandrel bent tubing w/twinloop muffler. should i also keep the centre resonator in the system or does it really matter?

well it depends if you want your exhaust loud or not if you want it loud then dont get resonators

Keep the resonator. Without it you will get that ricey farting sound from your exhaust and it will also likely be louder.

where does the center resonator go?
between the catalytic conv and piping? or in the muffler itself???

I'll be putting in a custom exhaust soon as well and want to avoid that FARTING sound at all costs.

Resonator goes shorlty after the cat in the piping.

should we keep the stock one or go aftermarket. they are stainless and look smaller.

If you are getting aftermarket catback piping, you will get an aftermarket resonator, I don't think you can reuse the stock one as its diameter is too small.
