Question - Type R Style upper strut bar on EG
You got the 2 bolt holes on each end.
And i know where they bolt upto
Its a bit too cold outside to fiddle with it. So i thought id just ask. Maybe someone knows.
The holes that they match upto on the chassis.
I had little rubber plugs in them
Are these holes threaded for bolts already?
Or do i have to lift the front end up, giving room for my hands to fit up in the wheel wells to stick a bolt in?

yeah, i'll never buy another 20 dollar strut bar lol. solid bars for me! i have the neuspeed front strut bar but wondering if it'll be worth it to switch to passwordjdm 3pt front and 4pt back strut bars.

any old car with strut towers that are not connected to the firewall could benefit from a 3 pt strut bar. all the new cars that come out have the strut towers connected to the firewall to improve structural integrity and they STILL come with solid strut tower bars. well at least that's what i noticed with a lot of toyotas that i work on.
please explain how an ebay strut tower bar with pivot joints is the SAME as a solid bar? if the bar was off the car i could move the pivot joints with a little force. so it would flex with the chassis because the car is carrying even more force than my bare hands. sorry but i have to disagree with you. solid bar > ebay bar with pivot joints. i even cut my ebay one in half just to see how it is inside and it's hollow. it's not nearly as stiff as my neuspeed one.

A big factor to look at also is the material its made out of
For example take a Ractive upper strut bar. Bolts upto the shock mount bolts. If you were to cut it in half... Youd see the skinniest aluminum rod with a plastic coating.
Then an OEM Type R solid bar.. Yes it is hollow also. but the walls are thicker and it has channels to strengthen it a bit more
