coilovers rattling???
oook me and my friend installed my coilovers on my 93 civic hatch....its all lowered and everything, but when your driving it sounds like the coilovers are rattling over bumps and stuff.....what is the problem here???

what coilovers? did you tighten the spring perches properly? did you install the o-rings (I'm assuming what you installed where sleeves)? did you set the preload on the springs?
and no, I've never had this problem ever.

preload means the spring has tension on it at full droop. some coilover setups that are meant for being super low use a 'helper' spring to keep tension on the spring when the suspension is extended all the way. lift the car up using the chassis rather than like a lower control arm, then adjust the spring perch up so the spring is contacting the upper mount with slight tension. do this all around and see if the rattle goes away.

there is one way to fix this issue.... (I've had it on the rear springs in my car) but only on an autocross when I get the rear tire off the ground and stupid spring wasn't settling back into the top hat correctly. the front springs had tension at full droop.
Anyways you remove the spring and shock combination. then you take off the top hat and drill 2 holes in it in opposite sides. you attach the spring to the top hat with zip ties... this prevents the spring from leaving the top hat at full droop. and doesn't need helper springs (I'm a cheap person sometimes.) of course you have to make sure that the spring perch is good and tight since it won't have anything pressing against it to create tension. but at the moment you have that same issue anyways.
just thought I'd help. this method is used in racing circles to prevent spring settling issues when the spring becomes fully unloaded and loaded again.
