question on accelerating

question on accelerating
hey guys i have a 94 si and i was wondering if this is normal. when i accelerate it seems sluggish then when i hit about 2500rpm it pulls hard to about 4500rpm and when i hit 4500rpm it pulls even harder. doest matter what gear i am in. is that the v-tec kicking in?? and is it supposed to be sluggish at first??

are you running a CAI or SRI??
that might explain the initial lag on take-off..

2500+ is probably where your lowend powerband lies..
4500+ is probably the V

also do you have exhaust? i know after i put my exhaust it in lost a ton of low end, if I launch it it goes nice, but if i start off nice and slow i can go WOT and not much will happen till after 2500, and then after 5500 V-TEC kicks in!!

Just cuse I don't have a vtec doesn't mean I can't rev to 9k. LOL

Plug gap and everything tuned up to spec? Timing check out...carbon deposits? Dirty injectors? Knock at high load/low rpm?

my plugs are gaped to .45 i think, i do need a timing belt change in like 5000km, i tried to clean the injectors with that stuff from crappy tire that you pour into gas, and no there is no knocking

The injector cleaner doesn't do squat... sonic cleaning and balancing is what's needed. But check everything else before you do that...
